Camera Photo Dock

My father would like to buy a digital camera & docking style printer for my mum. They do not have a computer & see it as a good alternative.

There are so many out there & I would like to know if anyone has good/bad reports about particular makes? Information I am looking for is the ease of use, quality of prints, expense of prints & buying paper/ink for the docking system.

The Gadget Show did a comparison a few weeks ago. Can't remember what won but the cost of prints amazed me. Apart from the cost of the machine, the consumables meant that each print was over �1.60p. for the cheapest machine tested. When Photobox can do them online for 10p, I wonder why anyone would bother with having their own equipment.

Look at Comet, Currys and Dixons just now - quite good offers on a camera and photo dock for about �130 to �150.

I always find the Kodak cameras so user friendly. The menus are easy and the software is really easy to get on with too. I have one myself and when my mum wanted a digital camera I recommended that she should go for Kodak too. She did and from a woman who doesn't know how to work her VCR she soon figured out the ins and outs of this camera and it's functions

..Just a thought for you to consider.......There are much more versatile printers than the "docking" style ......I have an Epson R300 which retails at less than �100 which has slots for all digital camera Media and can print without a PC up to A4....Superb printer......Then choose any camera you like.......much bigger (better) choice that way.......commoner.

I'm not certain of the quality but, I noticed that Sainsbury has one on special offer (Kodak I think). Might be worth checking out.
