I believe it is Arfbais

Arfau bonedd is a crest of arms.
Arfbais is escutcheon
Arfogaeth is the mail that is worn by a knight

Arfau = arms/arnour/weaponry
bonedd = gentility/nobility/pedigree

It is a popular misconception that the word 'crest' describes a whole coat of arms or any heraldic device. It does not. A crest is a specific part of a full achievement of arms: the three-dimensional object placed on top of the helm - http://college-of-arms.gov.uk/

Arfbais (also pais arfau)

Yes, both arfbais & pais arfu translate as escutcheon which is of course a shield - often bearing the coat of arms. I think there are a million welsh words for coat, pais can also mean petticoat!

My point being that translation is not an exact science...

The Welsh, needing a term for Coat of Arms, take the words with those literal meanings from English and yet when it is translated back it mutates to escutcheon, or "shield bearing a coat of arms".

I would suggest that both Arfbais and Arfau bonedd are valid answers to the question, however the former is the version in more common usage in modern Welsh.
