I have finally seen a suite to my liking - just exactly what I want (in looks). However it is in Scotland and they don't deliver to Ireland.

I have niece and nephew living near to one of the stores.

However

1. Would you buy a suite without having sat on it - if yes.

2. How could I get it delivered to me ie - like in a roundabout way - could I get it delivered to niece for whatever and then pay niece to get it delivered to me - would that be a lot of trouble.

There must be other shops that sell that suite surely. Have you tried googling the name and make to see what you come up with?
And yes, jj, the two sofas I have in my sitting room were bought without me sitting on them first.
As Lb say's Google name and make.

I'll google it now but I did see one in Scotland some time back and did google but nothing, but here goes.
JJ one is leather and very comfortable. The other is from Heals and I just knew it would be OK and yes it's lovely soft and comfy;-))
I wonder how much it would cost to have it transported to Ireland. Sam1960's link doesn't give any prices. Good link though.

I googled but the suite is only from Scotland.

Last time I liked the last suite I was preparing to fly to Scotland - my lovely friend was coming with me too but between me hmming and haahing - it was discontinued.

Sam - that's a great idea to think about - now how about sitting on it LOL.

Ladybirder - I am phobic re suites - too hard, too far back, arm too high - the list goes on. But I have been after this suite (look) for a long time now. Knowing my luck and being the 13th LOL - it'll be like brick.
Question Author
well have sent an email to that link to find out price for delivery so - that's progress.

I may get niece and nephew to go and sit on it - but you know one's man's meat is another man's poison. They could find it comfy but maybe I wouldn't.
This must be a very special suite jj:-)
Have you set a limit on what you would pay to have a suite delivered to you?
I doubt your niece will get to you any cheaper unless she sits on it and paddles it over to you. But no harm getting a quote.
SAM, did you read what it said in that link?

It includes, "If you are fishing for a bargain-basement cheap one way transit van and man hire to Ireland from UK you are on an unreal Internet portal. For us no deed is too mini or too gravid! Our trained, urgent UK to Ireland one way one man and his van make every capacity of relocation:" okay...
sounds better with a proper Oirish accent, TCL.
Living in Little Scotland Corby can't do an Irish accent. But I do love when he uses....telt....in one of his posts. :-)
No no no . All that for a sofa. There must be a sofa somewhere in Belfast that you would like jj .
i did buy a suite without sitting on it. and indeed it was custom made, when delivered it wouldn't go through the doors, so they had to come off to get it through. It looked lovely when new, now three years on its tired and worn. I wouldn't do it if i were you, there must be places nearer to where you live that have suites.
I’ve actually never bought a suite with sitting on it first, in fact
Our brand new suite arrives in a month and I’ve never physically laid eyes on it lol,
Can you have them delivered to a transport company that delivers to Ireland. I do this to Portugal, usually free delivery to UK warehouse then pay for transport over
You might have to consider import taxes and custom clearance in delivery costs. If you decide go with a reputable national company
