I've never heard it said here in Suffolk, either in my childhood years or in the 30 years since I returned here.
Likewise, I never heard it in the two decades I spent in Sheffield.
The phrase was totally unknown to me until I found it mentioned here on AB some years back and I've still never heard it spoken anywhere at all.
