morning, Sunday already, hasn't this week flown by, i hope that you are all in good health and that your day is a pleasant one, do you have anything planned for today?
I have a food shop to sort out around 9am then will see what the weather does, if its clear i might just sit in the park for a while, thank heavens its only a few minutes walk away.
Morning Emmie, have only got up to take painkillers so may vanish again soon. But as for today - we are meant to be going to the in-laws for a v early Fathers Day meal. They are going away on holiday nxt week for 6 weeks so will be away for actual Fathers Day on 19th June, as they are every year. So MrSmow wants to see his dad & give his card/presents etc before they go. Have to say his parents are incredible people, I absolutely adore them x
Oh Emmie, honestly they are just fabulous. I genuinely don’t know what I would have don’t without them this past year. They call me their daughter, which just chokes me up, and they call teenSmow their grandson, even though biologically he isn’t (I didn’t meet MrSmow till he was 5 yrs old). I’m incredibly incredibly lucky.
between 9-10, usually i also have a call from a friend in Northern Ireland, but she is away this weekend so have a free day after sorting the shopping.
Had my main shopping delivered on Thursday - the driver was so young & cheerful, and so so helpful. He could see I was struggling/in pain, and not only offered to carry my shopping from porch where he’d put it, but into main house, but then offered to carry the whole lot right thru the house to my kitchen which is at the back.
that's good smow, some drivers have said they won't deliver to the flat, that i should come and collect the shopping from the ground floor, which is not possible, so i have to insist they bring it at least to the front door, citing my bad knee problem, which they do grudgingly, it makes me stressed
Good morning. I had sort of a scary half-hour today, I was sitting reading and noticed that it was getting quite dark ,and then I heard this roaring/whistling noise and got up to see horizontal rain streaking by. I have quite large windows in three rooms facing onto the balcony, and I could hear and feel the glass flexing, so I left the two balcony doors open thinking that this might relieve the pressure on the glass. Turns out is was quite a storm with winds up to 132 kph, and so far 4 people have been reported killed.
I'm a few miles NW of Toronto. I'm OK, but my sister phoned me and was quite distraught that a tree she had planted as a sapling on her front lawn about 25 years ago had been blown down. Luckily it didn't land on her car.
