Is there a reason why we need to declare our gender on here?

Could I suggest the question is removed on our profiles? I see no point in it at all. We don’t have to say how old we are or what nationality we are and removing this in my opinion, would be one step forward in reducing the bullying.

Some choose the "not set" option

If folk have chosen either, "Male" or "Female", they can always amend it to, "-" which displays as "Not Set".

As it's optional Maydup, I see absolutely no reason to remove it.

I never think to look at an ABer's gender, I rarely look at their profile. Why would I?

Its really not obvious that its optional. The options are

-
Male
Female

Its not obvious that the dash can be selected or that the field is optional. I'd still like it to be removed, but I guess it, and all of the other optional fields are to help with the sales of advertising. In which case make it obligitary but not viewed by on the public profile.
