Had to drive to big, big town today. Well Killarney. What did we find? Pork pies and crumpets!
Only had one pork pie have we had since moving to Ireland and not a crumpet have we seen. No comments please.
Cleared the shelves with a load of pies to take to the pub for tomorrow's match to share with others including the pork pie deprived Brits who will be cheering for Ireland.
Whats been the most exciting dull thing that's happened to you today?
M&S used to have lovely Pork Pies, lovely pastry and excellent as a snack. Then one day they made new and improved Pork Pies. Even my dog refused to eat them.
Today I bought a 90G bar of Aero sharing chocolate and ate it all myself. It didn't say that it was bad for fat diabetics!
Had my mane chopped off. Window cleaner came. Mr Tesco brought my prescription from Dr Smirnoff - along with other stuff, I hasten to add & now I wish I'd thought of a pork pie. Meh.
Our Liddl doesn't sell crumpets, MissT. Haven't found any for the last four years til M&S today.
I know what you mean about pastry. When I had an ulcer I'd be in agony if I ate pastry.
Those Tesco prescriptions are great aren't they, LiK! I'd send you a pork pie but we'd both be arrested. I did try to get my children to bring some over last year. All I got was.......Oh Mother!!
Wolf63 17.39. And heres me thinking I was the only one complaining.M&S are complete rubish now, loved the pork and egg one. Now they sell dried up slices. I think they mean improved profit, selling rubbish for top dollar.
Beginning to wish Dave had, Helen. He suggests we try the pork pies before we take them to the pub. We also bought some M&S wine. Are we living dangerously?
Nicebloke, Our office was very ear M&S and I used to pick something up for lunch most days. The food used to be worth paying extra for but it's not so good these days.
Iceland sell Greggs' sausage rolls. The are scrummy just out of the air fryer!
I think a lot of suppliers went bust due to covid shut downs, a lot more than we know about. There sausage ( pork) is still good, and an ok price £2.65.
