Vulnerable Native Dog Breeds
There are 34 dog breeds in the UK that are designated 'vulnerable' by the Kennel Club, having less than 300 pups registered in a year. On 18th June I am organising a dog show just for these 34 breeds to be held at Stoneleigh at the NAC, and anyone interested in finding our more about any of these breeds is welcome to attend.
For Ratter - we have Irish Wolfhound classes.
Other breeds are Bearded Collie, Bloodhound, Bull Terrier (Miniature), Collie (Smooth), Deerhound, English Setter, English Toy Terrier, Foxhound, Fox Terrier (Smooth), Glen of Imaal Terrier, Gordon Setter, Greyhound. Harrier, Irish Red & White Setter, Kerry Blue Terrier, King Charles Spaniel, Lakeland Terrier, Lancashire Heeler, Manchester Terrier, Mastiff, Norwich Terrier, Otterhound, Retriever (Curly Coated), Sealyham Terrier, Skye Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Spaniels (Clumber, Field, Irish Water, Sussex, Welsh Springer) and Welsh Corgi (Cardigan).
Come and meet the dogs and owners and find out about these often little known breeds that have been around for many years but could be in danger of dying out if we don't attract new owners.
Also an item on The One Show tonight features the Vulnerable Native Breeds.
