Green Snot?
11 Answers
Ive noticed my snot is bright green, thick & gloopy, & theres an icky taste, & its been going down the back of my throat.
However, the only other sign of something wrong is a bit of a sore throat but its usually releived by drinking
my nose is clear on both sides & not runny, tonsils are fine, no cough, no tight chest, no pain in cheeks etc
I dont feel great but thats quite common for me tbh so its hard to tell.
So i'm not really sure whats going on?
Any ideas of what i should do - i dont want to ignore it then come down with something bad - & i know antibiotics are not wise, not at the moment anyway.
what should i do? Whats caused this? Any ideas?
NB: - I have to take a lot of extra salt, so I'm finding I'm waking up with a dry mouth a lot lately.
NB: Ive been sorting through some stuff so kicked up some dust, & although I wear a dust mask while doing it, its obviously around the house - & i'm allergic to dust.
Thanks :)

There you go, you have made the diagnosis yourself ....House dust allergy causing your post nasal drip.
Keep yourself well hydrated (why are you taking excess salt?) and nip into the chemist for a steroid nasal spray.
Also your full history was much appreciated.

Reminds me of a weeks stay at hotel in Verdun with my old mates. Every day afte returning from battlefield and WW1 fort visits we were greeted by the hotel owner with a tray of green liquers . Iasked mein host if it was chartreuse in atrocious French and he said no it was a local speciality.Intranslated and three of our party didn’t like it so Frank and I finished them off. Inasked Frank what he thought and he said it was not dissimilar to Chartreuse but looked like Green Snot. The name stuck and we refer to it as such to this day.
