Is It Legal To Put Your Kid In A Straitjacket?
I have a friend who I just discovered uses a straitjacket on her 11 year old whenever she is home. She allots her 2 hours to eat, shower, and do homework before placing her in the jacket until morning. She went on about how using it helps her kid with sleep and to stay out of trouble and how great she does in school. I told her that I did not think it was legal to do this, but she insisted is was. She told me it made her life so much easier and even offered to get me one for my kid. Does anyone know if this is allowed or not? If it is, then I might just have to take her offer and get one too lol.

Hi Gina,
Yes! Keeping kids in straightjackets is perfectly legal and, I would argue, preferable. Kids can be terribly disruptive to ones personal life so keeping them bound is definitely a bonus in my opinion. However, I think your friend is missing a trick in that she’s failing to put electrical tape over her wayward child’s mouth. This is crucial. It’s no good having an immobile minor if they’re constantly moaning and groaning. That kind of nonsense needs to stop toot sweet. Electrical tape can do wonders for the eradication of unwanted verbiage.
