Good Morning Monday Birds!
Hope we all had a good nights sleep. Another week starts already! Decided yesterday that I'm going to drive up to Norfolk on Thursday/Friday to 'do the rounds' (again!!)and visit my 3 children.(well 3 of them as 4th is in Devon). Sick of waiting for anyone to visit me, which they never ever do, so as usual it's down to me to juggle seeing 3 different families in 3 different towns within a couple of days, but that just seems to be the way it is. At least I can say that I've made the effort..... they do say you can't choose your families lol.
Looks dry outside so far, but lastnight was the first eve that I definitely felt a nip in the air - maybe after a very mild October we will suddenly rush into a chilly November!

You are going to have a busy couple of days, hope they all live reasonably close to each other. Problem these days is families are always so busy, working all week and if they have children they seem to have endless activities at the weekend they need ferrying to. No doubt you will enjoy seeing them all.
Got better sleep now that son and family are back from France. His car broke down out there and it couldn't get repaired while they were there so got rental car. They were meant to come back the way they went there, on Eurostar. They found out that no way would they let them back on it as foot passengers as it's against their rules. So had to drop car off at ferry port and get ferry instead and get new hire car this end. Cheap holiday for them turned out to be anything but.
I agrees ubasses, totally, but I work too and even when I first had my accident & fractured my spine, and was hospitalised, not one of them visited. It's always always been me that goes to them - and it gets very frustrating when you then see them online (FB usually) posting that they've been here, there and everywhere, but can't quite manage to get to me....MrSmow cannot understand how tolerant I've been.
TSM - on no, what a complete nightmare! So where is your sons car now?? (Morning btw too lol)
Morning all,
I know what you mean about having to be the one doing the visiting. I only have one remaining family member ( apart from mum) and if I ask her and my brother in law to come up for a visit the excuse is always, oh we can't leave the cats.... I am hoping to be a cat mum myself soon so it's going to work both ways. If I do a trip to London I have to stay in a hotel, and I can be in pain and out of action with fatigue for up to a week afterwards. They drive, and if I can do London and back in a day in an emergency why can't they do the same.
So glad I didnt add kids into the mix. I see my friends run ragged collecting grandkids, taking them shopping, etc etc .
Good Morning all,
Wet and drizzley here. Nothing planned as my bones are playing up.
Unpopular opinion here, you don't owe your children anything and equally they don't owe you anything.
If they wanted to see you they would make an effort, if they are not even making a guilt effort - I would certainly not make the effort?
Good morning all.
Ungrateful children you've got there Smow - I used to visit my Mum (in Norfolk) at least every two or three months when I lived in Swindon, then Staines, and then here in Hayling. But such visits do no longer seem to be the norm. I suppose it's another change caused by the internet.
I hope you have a good trip to Norfolk, it's where I spent my teens and twenties (Sheringham). Now there's a place which really can be cold - no land mass between North Norfolk coast and the North Pole so a North wind was really bitter there.
