There's a decent kitchen underneath all the nicotine. I've cleaned it as much as vinegar/dish soap will allow. What's the best product to strip what's left? Please answer if you've already done this yourself so I don't waste time and money guys!! Also, would any product save gloss pained wooden doors?

No choice but to live there, section 21 notice, I have a couple of weeks yet :)

Genuinely appreciate your help.

When using sugar soap, best to start at the bottom and work your way up. Starting at the top results in runs to the wall below, which may still be noticeable when the job is done.

For stubborn patches try the cheapest toothpaste you can buy - rub it on with a dry cloth in circular motions. Wipe off with a damp cloth.

Swarfega is also safe to try

You know what, I thought sugar soap. Will also use the toothpaste idea. Thank you! Don't think there's a magic solution so to speak!!

Sugar soap is excellent. Also called soda crystals.

Isn't sugar soap a liquid...not crystals. I've used it to clean before painting.

Soda crystals are sodium carbonate.

Sugar soap is usually made using sodium carbonate as an ingredient.  Manufacturers have their own recipes.

The sugar soap I buy is a powder that has to be dissolved

I'm with the builder on this one - used sugar soap on a very badly stained lounge some years ago, worked really well. Good luck.
