Bra Trouble!

I'm having a nightmare... I've always worn size 34A, and my sister is almost exactly the same size as me (and also had been waering 34A). She got measured at La Senza and they told her she was actually a 32C. I tried on a 32C bra that she bought and it fit. So I thought I'd better get measured in case I was wearing the wrong size too. The girl measured under my bust and said I was a 34, then just decided that I was an A by looking at me. When I told her about my sister she just said 'there's no way you could be a C' which is what I thought in the first place.... despite trying on all kinds of sizes (32C, 34B) and finding them all more comfortable than the 34A. But I bought the 34A anyway, having been assured that this was right....I've been wearing it all day today and it feels really tight! I feel incredibly constricted underneath my boobs even though I have it on the loosest catch and the straps are at the longest possible length. HELP! (Sorry for such a long post)

Can I suggest you go to M&S or John Lewis where, I understand, there is a proper bra-fitting service. It's really important for your back - although I believe this is even more important from, say, D cup and above.

Apparently most women wear wrongly sized bras, so I;d take the advice offered and get yourself properly measured, but explain about the discrepancy in the information you;ve received so far.

Obviously you are a better judge of if a bra fits you or not than someone who just measures you - it's obviously a wrong size for you. Better get some proper advice.

Yeh i agree, go for another couple of fittings. M&S have a great reputation for their bra fitting service so try them.

why bother getting measured if its just some girl having a guess (though i wouldn't make that job)? you say you tried on different bras, some of which were uncomfortable and some which were very comfortable - so just go back get about ten different one in various sizes and buy the one thats the most comfortable whilst still providing the neccessary lift(?) - maybe i've missed to point, but i am a man and bra advice doesn't come naturally....

Debenhams to measuring and I would highly recommend them . I thought i knew my size as i got measured years ago. i was measured recently and they have changed. what a difference the right size makes

M&S is great for fitting services, as mentioned above. I wore a 38C for years - got measured at M&S and apparently I'm a 36E! Suddenly everything is more comfortable!

k i've never actually gotn properly measured but i bought a bra b4 n it gave instructions on the back on how to measure urself n from this u worked out the size under ur bust n ur cup size! not jus guess work lik yer 1.i worked out i was completely wearin da wrong size so if u found a bra with instructions lik dat u cud do it urself but dont jus go with wha da guessin girl sed get urself properly measured u know urself whether ur comfortable r not n i bought the wrong bust size b4 by accident in a rush n it was damn painful. so be comfortable with wha u wear!

ok, a word of advice, if you decide to get measured at m&s only their bars will fit you properaly. they have their own measuring system, as they measured me as a 36a, when infact there was no chance i was!! i'm actually a 32c!! la senza are the same, try the 'kylie' range, and also john lewis are good too, as they have many different makes! hope this helps!!!
