It is my Dads 65th Birthday next this month and I have complied a photo album/scrapbook of as many old photos I could lay my hand on up to the present day - finishing with his beloved Grandchildren.

I am looking for a verse or saying to put at the begining of the album but can't think of anything suitable.

Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

Here's one that springs to mind Buttonstoo:

If when climbing up life's ladder
You can reach a hand below,
Then just help that other person
Up another rung or so.
It may be that in the future
When you're getting weary too,
You'll be glad to find there's someone,
Who will lend a hand to you.

Probably not what you were looking for, but Happy Birthday to your Dad anyway!

that's rather nice smudge :)

You've reached the age of sixty five and I give this book to you

It's full of pictures of your life and many loved ones too

Through all the years you can browse and remember happy days

And know your family love you and all your special ways

Happy Birthday

you could change 'I' to 'we' if appropriate

Thank you spacechimp - although I think lady's verse is just the job for a 65 year old!

why not try looking through some hallmark type cards in the card shop?

some may think its cheating but i don't - it's not a competition and i assume you are not a poet so turn to the professionals - you may find the perfect sentiment

Wow, Lady_p_gold that verse is fantastic!! I never imagined anyone would volunteer to compose a verse!!

I will use this and indeed change the 'I' to 'We'
