typo - a mistake in typing
eg he knwe how to spell the word

spello refers to a spelling mistake.
eg he new how to spell the word

I was going to say a Typo would be a typing error and a Spello would be a written (or verbal) misspelling.
But I suppose that would be a Writo (or Speako)!


I wonder what a typed grammatical error would be?

actually fibonacci surely 'new how to spell the word' is more a use of the wrong word than a spelling error--after all 'new' is correctly spelt
