curiosity killed the cat?

was the cat killed by curiosity itself, or was it through an event caused by being curious?

i'm asking this as my cat is very curious and i'm worried he may be killed.

It's the problems cats encounter, caused by their curiosity, that can get them into awkward situations, sometimes with drastic consequences. Cats will be cats - they are quick learners, so don't worry too much about your cat - you can be sure he / she certaqinly isn't worrying about you!.

allot of times it is because they are curious yes like andy said, you can try to help by not letting them roam outside except under supervision and that will help allot on the risk factor, the percentage they will be killed by cars or another animal or neighbor and such will be reduced. In your home make sure all chemicals and such are put away,( kind of like having a 2 year old in the house), that reduces the risk again....but nothing is ever 100% with any animal or human...you try and keep them as safe as you can and enjoy their company, play and give affection...when you do these things to help reduce the risk at least you know you tried to give them the safest environment you could.

Accidents happen, just like when we hurt ourselves sometimes...don't worry too much..enjoy your cat..

I think cats have a lot more sense of self preservation than 2 year olds. No use trying to supervise them, they are wild animals (except when it suits them no to be)

Keep your cat in at night. It will also save countless birds, cats get them when they are feeding early in the morning.
