No area for carers or medical questions in the new AB. WHY?

AB ED thanks for the changes you have just made. I do like some of the subcategories and think they may be quite helpful However, why is there still no area in which Carers can share their experiences and views??? Carers come from all walks of life, all age groups and from all professions and there are quite a few carers who regularly use the AB. We have asked for an area where we can discuss the problems we face day to day before, but again, nothing has been done. Do Carers not count?

Also, why is there no subcategory for medical questions? So many of the Body & Soul questions are from people who are going through medical problems and want to ask others who have been through similar situations how they coped etc.

You seem not to have given consideration to either of these two subjects at all. Why? Surely they are important enough! Please reconsider. Thanks :o)

I'm sure people will help in health section
there's a HEALTH and FITNESS subcategory...you can post your medical questions in there. What about people&places for your questions to other CARERS!!!
Or even a carers website, there are a few out there for home carers to talk to each other :-)
I think it hasn't been included Carakeel as the subject itself is very exclusive isn't it?
Like 4getmenot has already said there are some excellent dedicated websites and forums out there for them.
Thats it BOO exclusive, couldnt think how to put it. There are many problems that a lot of people have to deal with cancer, post natal depression, old age. Advice can be given under the different sections. :-)
I think as a carer, I would find a category for carers very useful, there are so many thousands of us and we go largely unidentified with not a great deal on the net really apart from a few forums. I think it would be a very well attended category indeed and serve a useful resource for information.
ooh, but what about anglers? or car boot sellers? or traffic wardens? or tattooists...you can't have a catagory about everything.
this is a Q&A site, not somewhere to share your experiences
joko i believe AB to be very much about sharing your experiences,
perhaps dot, but that is not its main aim - its main aim is to answer questions

- if in answering a Q you share a story, just to back up your answer, thats fine, but just random chat about being a carer is not what this site is about

I am making the point that there are thousands of topics that could be here, but they are simply too singular and exclusive to warrant their own catagory - especially when there are other, wider topics that are suitable for the types of questions this subject warrants

some people miss the point of the catagories on this site - wanting individual subjects to have their section - answerbank is supposed to cover everything equally.
There was a lot of support for a carers section when it was suggested. I do think it could have been included somewhere. Lots of the posts end up as 'chats'. I think that the carers section would have been used for asking advice and questions from people with similar experiences. Whilst I accept you obviously can't have a section for every topic, this seemed quite important to a lot of people.
