Is not only a song but an oft used phrase for extra determination/killer instinct. Did the phrase pre-date the song or was it first coined by Survivor?

I can't track down a definite origin for the saying but it was used as the title of a 1977 Sinbad film so it certainly pre-dates the mid eighties Rocky film and Survivor song at least.
