Why are dandelions known as pissabeds?

I was always told by by parents, that if I picked the nice yellow flowers, I would end up wetting the bed!

I was told the same thing, I think a lot of children were. I believe the 'myth' is rooted in fact because I believe that dandelion sap is a diuretic - and absorption through the skin via cuts and scrapes can result in an untimely bladder evacuation!

same as 1. If you picked them the sap would somehow make your bladder weak.
