Has anybody heard it said that if you nod your head before you go to sleep, the amount of times you've nodded your head will be the hour you wake up? So if you nod your head seven times you will wake up at 7?

I don't believe it to work, I just don't know if it's actually something people have said or if it's just the one person I know and his nan.

I heard that, but i heard it was banging you head on the pillow!
& how exactly do you do half a nod for say, 7.30??
doesn't that depend on what time you go to bed at...?

7 nods for 7 hours assumes you went to bed at midnight - unless you are suggesting that your sleeping brain can see the clock...?

Ha ha wiggal, I'm not sure about the half nod. and what if you do one too many nods? Do you then have to shake your head to cancel it out?! Thanks for the confirmation though, I thought the person who told me was making up his own old wives tales!

joko it's not one nod per one hour, it doesn't matter what time you go to bed, if you nod seven times you will wake at 7, eight times and it'll be 8 and so the theory goes. Of course though I am not 'suggesting' anything, that's why I said, 'I don't believe it to work,' and made clear I just wanted to know if anybody else had ever heard it said.
I have heard of this 'old wives tale' - my aunty mary used to do it and no matter what time she wanted to get up, it used to work! I still think she had the gift of getting up at whatever time she please, don't think it's anything to do with the head nodding or pillow patting!!
I went to bed on Thursday evening, nodded 72 times and missed the whole weekend!

Ha ha, bad luck Leight0n!
Hhahah This Question is too funny. Noddy!!

It's autosuggestion, we need to understand that the brain rules the body, not the other way around, so our brain will wake up when it wants to (needs to), im guessing our bodies respond to that - this theory work for me, I just tell myself I need to be awake for whatever hour, and mostly find myself awake for then,.

Bunch of Balloons ... but very amusing.
