I remember that a US President had something disparaging to say about boyscouts - something like children dressed like cretins and cretins dressed like children. Can anybody tell me what the saying was and which president it was? I tried entering some search strings in Yahoo! but I did not have any luck. Thank you!

Wow, I have never heard anything like that, and I'm American! Yet, it is still possible... I have been searching for info. on this for you (haven't found anything so far). It would be a bad move politically for any president to say such a thing... unless it was a *former* president whose career was over. My guess is that it would have been a Democrat and not a Republican who said such a thing. The Boy Scouts share many of their values with the Republican Party, for example, "family values," strong Christianity, and anti-homosexualism.

Dear KEJ2000, thank you for your reply; yes, I am sorry I did not put this better, but it was certainly a US President a long time ago, long since dead, long before political correctness etc. I used to hear this when I was a child and I am now 40. Thank you again!
Actually, it wasnot an American president, but Jack Benny who said, "A scout troop consists of twelve little kids dressed like schm**ks following a big schm**k dressed like a kid." (edited)
