MM Link Game Solutions February [Week 3]

The link words chosen by Barbara are as follows:
Red ADMIRAL
Blue BELL
Yellow HAMMER
BOWLING Green
Nice ones - but presenting a headache for the scorer.
There's so many multiple "first" hits that I needed to get out my "log tables" - No! Ont-ice I'm not referring to the furniture back in CANADA.
The first to "flutter by" at 9.03 was RED ADMIRAL spotted by Christiana - then Burgess (same time) then cliffyg (within the 2-minute rule at 9.05) then again by ulysses (at 9.05). FOUR sets of two-pointers gone and we are still on the first link word! There's more!
The second word to fall was BOWLING GREEN at 9.03 by Grenmus and then by sarumite at 9.04 and cliffyg (again) at 9.05. Hence another THREE sets of two-pointers gone and the Game is only 5 minutes old! There's more!
Sarumite at 9.04 (Entrant #8)came in to claim his second scalp with YELLOW HAMMER to be followed with the exact same time by slaney's YELLOW HAMMER! Is there no end to this multiple scoring?
Only one link word remained - but not for very long! It lasted until Entrant #19 came in at 9.09 with the best set of predictions from huggles claiming BLUE BELL together with Yellow Hammer and Red Admiral to build up a massive four points. In fact, huggles was just outside the two-minute rule, otherwise there would have been a prize of six points.

No best answer has yet been selected by crofter. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.We have a long list of excellent scores from this round of link words. On four
points we have sarumite, cliffyg and huggles.
However, in view of the fact that huggles has found three of the four link words, I must declare huggles as the "hot shot" of the round. Big ***HUGGLES*** all round!
In view of the complexity of the scores, you may have to wait a little longer to see how this affects the league tables. I'll come back to this posting as soon as I can.
APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY BUT YOU CAN SEE WHY!
Well the only good thing about this week was equality prevailed within the house, since both ChrisH and ShazzerH scored a pair of JimJools'! Sorry JJ but could not resist after your latest post. Again, thanks to all involved for another interesting W/E Part 1.
Here's hoping for a better link with KM's thoughts..............

What a panic! Multiple bonus points on a new scale, and Mrs crofter cooking the evening meal. I just KNEW I would be pushed to meet the 7 o'clock deadline (my typing is painfully slow). What to do? Elicit the help of Mrs crofter herself (aka Valerie) - she's a touch typist (and uses every finger). Within seconds of me asking, the keys were rattling and she was saying "samurite? How do you spell that? Capital S?"
On with the business in hand;
After a round of brisk scoring, when waiting in the shrubbery really did pay off for most ot the early entrants, the processing of points did present the biggest challenge to date.
The best scores for the round were as follows
4 POINTS: huggles (3 hits out of 4) and two minutes off getting 6 points! Last month, huggles scored just 1 point all month - so it can be done! **STAR OF THE WEEK**
Also on 4 POINTS are cliffyg and sarumite (Well done both)
A little behind on 2 POINTS are Alibobs, burgess, Christiana, evsajo, Grenmus, slaney and ulysses (Still in contention) with ten ABers (on 1 POINT) snapping at the heels of the leaders.
NOTE: In all the confusion and the fact that the entry of evsajo was phoned in, she may not have been given due credit in the opening preamble. Hopefully, this omission has now been rectified.
With only one week left before we select the March setter, how are the running totals going?
Well the leaders are starting to pull away. They are:
6 Points: sarumite & evsajo (still hanging on in there)
5 Points: cliffyg
4 Points: Christiana, huggles & wickedtongue
3 Points: Alibobs, Arabesque, burgess & slaney

Could the March setter be one of these worthies. They had all better start thinking of potential lists. Whoever it will be has a hard act to follow.
Excellent job from Barbara (aka rogerr) once again.
See you all again next week. Same time, same place, same zany humour!
This is crofter (and valerie) signing off for another week!
Should anyone appear on AB called "elvira" - know her for who she is! The Queen of Darkness!

Oh dear--the last time I saw crofter he was throwing buckets of water on his abacus!!
Painful methinks.
Sorry crofter, but they have got the measure of me!
Will have to be more devious next week---my last!!
Congrats to all point scorers and a big hug for Huggles!
We await the final scores on the doors!

Wow .. just logged on .. had no idea that my cunning plan actually did work, so will have to employ it again next week! .. (I used the aerial assault to avoid the snipers in the shrubbery).
Well done Huggles 3 from 4 is quite a feat! ☺☺☺
Barbara, I don't mind being mistaken for a Japanese warrior, but a pot of vegetable extract ?? Come on now! Still if I'm your mate I suppose it'll be OK!
Well done crofter old mate .. a grand job as usual .. if it gets any more complex you may also need the anti-logs and perhaps even a quick dabble with the tangents!!
Cheers (S) ;0)
