Singing Welsh Workers

Why do Welsh people sing on their way to work? It's true; If you don't believe me, take a look at the film How Green Was My Valley.

that was a few years ago now, and in Hollywood. I believe they now listen to Charlotte Church on their iPods. They still sing at rugby matches, though. There's a long tradition of Welsh choral singing.

Interesting! My family come from a mining community in NW Leicestershire; there was a great tradition of Silver and Brass Bands. I remember groups of miners walking to the pits and making the noises of the instruments they played. Nearly as good as the real thing!
