what is a stotter? I could not find it in any dictionary. the context is:

...she asked us to write something. the last poem we did was to be on out philosophy on life. I did a ******* stotter on putting your real, deep thoughts on the internet so complete strangers could get to know you after you were dead, sort of like being immortal...

A stotter in Scotland means something special as in;
I met a girl at the pub last night. She was a stotter.
Or; " That was a stotter of a film on the TV last night.

Sometimes spelt " STOATER "
It's also pronounced stoater with the second T sometimes pronounced with a glottal stop.
As a bit extra info, to stot means to bounce, stagger or stumble.
As part of the Scots massive I would describe something as a Stoat -er. Manola Blahnik makes stoating shoes!
Stunning to the point of being mesmerised or stupified.
