Okay, has anyone heard of this? Apparently when you have plants or trees in your home or garden, you are supposed to have 1,3 or 5 (or any odd number)? You are not supposed to have an even number????
I don't know what its all about, but my ma keeps saying it!
yes I have heard this too, it apparently looks more pleasing to the eye if plants are grouped in odd numbers. Also I think in Japanese type gardens, it is considered lucky. If you want to know more try Googling 'odd number planting' and you will be able to read loads more about it.
its just aesthetics, its the the same with interior design too. i guess even numbers are too balanced and the finished look is therefore too 'fake'. all that aside, a couple of bay or olive trees either side your front door look fab :)
