My daughter just fell about laughing at a man roughly in his forties and says they look the equivalent of women looking like mutton dressed as lamb. What would be the phrase that could be used for men? Goats dressed as kids?

I possess a few rugger shirts, one being in lycra. Is it a class thing that rugby jerseys are a little more acceptable?

And for the record I have never owned a football shirt. I am not opposed to the game of football however, but 50 for a shirt that lasts 40 weeks before it is lasts season is ridiculous!!
i think football shirts should be only worn by children over a certain age group, its quite sickening to see a toddler wearing a football shirt that labels him / her. particulary with sectarianism and loutish behaviour associated with certain teams.
men on the other hand should know better, especially when they have a bulging beer belly underneath which protrudes from the bottom, what an example for our young.
I know a guy who is 65 and he wears these oz shorts which are about 5 inches above the ankle , combined with a t shirt
which has a beer advert on it !! Looks a plonker . Can't think what phase would be apt !!!

I think 'plonker' is probably the correct phrase theonlyone! You win!!!
I agree, i automatically assume they also have tattoos and that they probably only watch the team from the pub lounge. It is worse if they wear brown sandals at the same time though, the Brits on holiday eh? Sitting on a rock just out to sea, knotted hanky on his head, footie shirt on to protect him from the sun, 3 quarter snide kecks, looking out for sharks and swiggin from a can of Special Brew.
Excuse me Dot there is nothing wrong with tasteful tattoos although I did see a bloke once with love and hat accross his knuckles
dont forget the white SOCKS under the sandals.
And flip flops with jeans lol what's all that about
Love and hat eh, had he lost a finger? lol
No just an ear lol

Perhaps he could stand the pain
