I realise this is a personal question, but would you grass up a loved one if they committed a serious crime?

If my father, God forbid, was a terrorist, as much as I love him, I would go straight to MI5 without a shadow of doubt.

I suppose it depends on the crime, but would a parent dob their own children in say if they found kiddy porn on the computer??

Also would you take points on your driving licence for a loved one if they were caught speeding?

(this is not really a linkage to the foul muslim mothers who give alibi for their Jihad sproggs, they should be shot in my book)

It would break my heart but I would turn in my own family if they had commited a serious crime, particularly for rape or murder although, thankfully I have never been presented with such a situation. I have been brought up to have a strong sense of morals and values and it would go against everything I stand for to sit back idly and do nothing, knowing that some poor family had been left crushed and heartbroken by the actions of one of my family members. No-one is above the law.

I hope it's a situation that I will never find myself in but if it was a serious crime then yes I would turn them in. I would not be able to live with myself if someone else had suffered because of something one of my loved ones did and I ignored it.

i digress slightly, but, to the backdrop of tonight's episode of eastenders, (which was quite dramatic and involved some very well acted tears and distress, especially by the girl who framed Sean,) instead of turning the TV off to take a quiet moment, i told my grandson his Godfather had died whilst the episode unfolded, ( see thread in family life) it seemed as though everyone was crying including us and it made things seem chaotic. (digression over), but strangely enough I think that episode will be burned into my memory for as long as I live.

i was disappointed by the number of people who said if their child had commited a murder they wouldnt tell the police.
in fact some said theyd help to cover it up .

I'd go to the police in a heartbeat, towing the offending party behind me, especially if it was my daughter.
I agree with legend's opinion of the lawlessness of children these days. If they commit a crime and their parents cover it up, they're basically saying it's okay and they are untouchable. I live in Eccles which is next to Salford and I'm sure you've all seen the pictures in the papers of the two girls waving guns around and laughing. It makes me ashamed to be a parent. If they were my daughters, well, they wouldn't be my daughters because my children know better!
