Foreign animal 'speak'

Here's one for you! We say dogs bark,cats meow,horses niegh etc. But what do other countries say what noises an animal makes? I don't mean a translation of the word,but what it actually sounds like in that country. Onamatapiacally so to speak. If that's the right word. One of those thoughts that has just stuck in my head,so please help!Cheers.

Off the top of my head i recall that Italians say that ducks "quock" and frogs make some other odd noise. I'll let you know when anything else relevant springs to mind.

I beleve that japanese dogs say "wan wan"

oh and french roosters say "coquelicot" hope thats the right spelling...and isn't it amazing the irrelevant stuff that lives in one's brain...

French ducks say "coin", which is also the French word for "corner". But a "corner" in the football sense is referred to by the English term "corner", otherwise it would sound as if the football commentators were shouting "quack quack!" instead of "Corner! Corner!"

In Norway cockerals go "kikkelikee"... sounds a bit like the French ones.
