Getting rid of.......
Hi
I created a file on my desktop with a jpg extension that I no longer need. When I try to get rid of it either by delete or dragging to recycle bin, I get a message saying that this file is being used by another program etc. Anybody have any idea what I need to do to find out what program is using this file ? Any help would be greatly appreciated - it's getting on my nerves !!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Try closing all programs that you don't need. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and access the task manager. Use 'end task' to close everything except Explorer and Systray.Then try deleting the file.
Alternatively, try deleting the file with a file shredder program. (I've sometimes had files which I can't delete in the usual way but which I've still been able to shred). This might do the trick:
