Learning Spanish

I am trying to learn spanish but am having some trouble getting to understand about nouns and verb and plurals etc as I didnt learn much about the english language in school as I missed out on a lot of schooling when I was younger.
Is there any spanish learning books or courses that anyone could recommend that would help me understand and learn the language with more ease?
I am attending night class and still find it challenging but any suggestions are greatly appreciated :-)
