why are dusters usually yellow?

Generally dusters are yellow in colour but why ?
Is it tod o with the material or some other convention?

Dunno. Probably to make them easier to find in the cupboard ! If they are with towels, flannels and tea towels etc, they will be easier to spot !

However, from her carriage window, Victoria heard a small child ask if the the Queen was dusting? The Queen was not amused, and ordered that in future dusters should be produced in a colour other than white. The manufacturers chose yellow.
