Latin translation in traditional rhythmic pattern (5)

ITAL?

Looks like it should be ITALA (a translation of Bible into Latin based on Old Latin version), but what is the significance of latter half of clue? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Itala is the right answer.
In is often abbreviated to "i" and tala is a traditional rhythmic pattern in Indian music

misery. I'd have gone with ITALA, on the grounds I could find nothing else; it's always good to know why, and frustrating not to.
