how do you know when GOD is mad at you

If you are a believer, you will know that God is compassionate. He doesn't get "mad" at you. He may be disappointed that you didn't do what you knew to be right, but He doesn't throw thunderbolts at you or cause all your cattle to die of a plague.

If you're not a believer, why should you care about a non-existent being's moods?

It's more complicated than that. God cannot stand sin, ( that's anything we do wrong) but he is a patient God. Job was blameless in the sight of his peeres, yet some terrible things happened to him. Try reading Johns Gospel and Romans in the New Testement for a more detailed treatment of the charater of God etc.

Smudge, you might just as well say "Why did God let the concentration camps happen ?", or a million other atrocities down through the ages of human misery on earth. The fact is, as you are plenty smart enough to understand, that only a wicked person or a fool blames God for the wickedness committed by human beings, but accidents and fatal illnesses are a different matter. In that context, the Bible teaches that we suffer and die purely and simply because of our human imperfection - which came about through Adam and Eve's original sin. But the reason why God is permitting this imperfection - and all that it brings with it - to continue for so long, is for another reason altogether - the most important reason there ever was, and it is NOT because a loving, holy God wants to see us suffer.

donkey youre mad for not being patient. god could have known you go and steal the bike youre intention while praying for the bike were not from your heart. if you were honest person god would have heard youre pray. asking for forgiveness afterwards a bit to late dont you think, but at least you did .
