what does simile means? what does metaphor means?

If I remember correctly a simile is a comparison of two different objects to describe the property of one eg "his hands were as cold as ice" or "face like thunder" . They usually involve use of the words "as" or "like". A metaphor describes the object as if it has the property of another eg "his hands were icy" or "stone faced"

simile means the same as(exactly like) metaphor is a stated phrase; hot as hell, cold as ice, etc etc.
