My friend has a cat with a skin problem around her face and neck it is quite a dry skin complaint and it does not seen to bother the cat bit it looks awfull she has taken him to the vets but they did not know what was causing the problem. Thy have suggested test but as my friend is a pensioner she can not afford this. Can anyone suggest anything> Someone told her to give her cat a piryton tablet I have told her not to.
It could be an allergy, parasite or a skin infection and really needs to be treated by the vet. It could also be a symptom of liver, kidney disease or thyroid problems, and before she tries any home remedies she needs to ascertain the cause.
If you friend is on a low income, she may qualify for free treatment from the PDSA?
