Of being a civilian contractor for an MOD contract. Obviously 3/4s of the work force are ex services. Luckily enough I was in the ATC at 13 and quickly realised that wearing stripes equates to being a complete knob-end to everyone apart from your clique and thus steered me away from the Queens shilling.

ex-servicemen; please, please, please refrain from wearing 'the fourth stripe' (dodgy moustache) and referring to EVERYTHING in forces slang. My pet hate at the moment is the overuse of the word 'Gucci' for describing everything other than your standard military issue.

I was also on a course the other day and the instructor said we were to go for a 'NAAFI break'! For crying out loud, we're all civvies on a civvie site.

Oh no! 16AFA is the provost-sgt of this section. I'll be doing jankers in the cookhouse for the whole tour!
You poor thing, civilian contractors who work on military bases are to most military personnel the lowest form of pond life there is.
You have the freedom to change your employment/contract if the military slang upsets you.

No point whingeing, just move on. Am sure others, more appreciative of the work, would jump into your boots.

I think toureman is referring to blanket stackers rather than civvies getting paid 3 times the amount for a job that the squaddies are doing and will still be doing when they leave.
Ah, the whingeing of a failed squaddie.
Don't know what contract you're on Booldawg, but with your total inability to mix with the more highly trained forces people, the only question I'd ask is "why don't you get another job?". I have a feeling I know who the knob-end is.
