Savoyards - help required with Pinafore libretto

I've been listening to my recording of HMS Pinafore. My father recorded it off the TV in the early 70s onto reel-to-reel and I have since put it on my computer. It's an excellent version. I'd be interested to know if there's an official recording of this version, but that's an aside.

In the second act, Josephine is soliloquising (in song) and refers to "where organs yell" as part of the penalty of marrying into a lower class.

Does anyone have any idea what this refers to?

May be one for QM (I stand in awe of him).

She's singing about a dingy room in a back street where 'children cry, organs yell, housewives clack and washing is hung out' so all these things are happening in the street, not in the room. I would guess therefore that the organs in question are barrel organs.
