Why did Latin "die"?

OK. I'm doing a social studies project on the history of Latin, and I just got my research checked. Here was one of my questions I answered:

Latin was the native langauage of the Romans in the time period of 400 BC- 650 BC. Latin had been becoming an endangered language in the early Jesus times. Even though Latin is now dead, it was used in the Bible mutiple times.

OK? Got that part now? Ok, so I showed it to my teacher, and she said...in exact words...," Well,child, this language is very hard to study, but just because is you worked hard on it doesn't mean that this is a good subject to do. Your answer STILL doesn't answer the question I specifically gave you to do. You can redo it."
