diarrhea cure for dogs

My dog has had diarrhea for three days, does anyone know of a cure, or have I got to PAY a visit to the vets....

Starve your dog of food only for 24hours but if the diarrhea persists afterwards then the vet is the only option as it could be something really serious and the longer its left the worse it could get.

I'm sorry to disagree with the above poster, but if your child had the runs for three days solid, would you hesitate in taking him or her to the doctors?

I would rather take my pet to the vets and pay and find out it was something and nothing than hoping the problem will go away because i'm worried about the cost.

The strange thing is that dogs seem to get diarrhoea from stress, and with all the fireworks around at the moment this is a very stressful time for dogs. We have always managed the condition with boiled chicken and rice for a couple of days. But I do agree that a visit to the vet to eliminate all other possibilities is always wise.

If it's three days your dog needs the vets a.s.a.p .Please take him/her,your dog will be dehydrated.g.

It sounds very much like you need to take your poor dog to the vet gullivert - unless you already have!

Also, it might be best to take out pet insurance for the future. Hope he/she gets well soon.

Only give water, for dehydration but no food (food feeds the germ). See a vet.

try one egg scrambled, just with a little water no milk or salt this is what the PDSA advised me to do for my little yorkie when i had her it worked a treat but if it still persists go to vet

If you have pets, you must accept total responsibility for them - that means vet's bills as well. Get the poor creature to the vet a.s.a.p.!!

Just to let you all know, I took my dog to the Vets on Monday
he gave him an injection and said no food for 24hours just small amounts of water, another injection Tues to help with the bowel flora and three tins of special food, he is fine now, we think he had eaten some horse muck, so perhaps that was what caused it.
