I've noticed recently that the term "Commentary of Team A v Team B" is used regularly by Radio Five Live sports presenters. Why change from " Commentary on ....."?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Presumably the speaker means " commentary of [our reporters/commentators on the match ] Team A v Team B" but omits the words in brackets, as understood. Otherwise it makes no sense, since Team A are not commentating against Team B, or at all. The same speakers omit 'the' or 'our' before 'commentary' too, saying "now for commentary of...we go to...."
