I found the following sentence in the book "Word Smart". I want to know that whether 'Aunt Mabel' is a real person or fictional one and if she is a real person, who she is. "Even though Jerome did split Aunt Marbel's skull with an ax, his motive was irreproachable : he had merely been trying to kill a fly perched on her hairnet"
Don't know the book, but I'm guessing it is a grammar and usage book, and this is an example to illustrate some rule. Probably the author just made up an outrageous situation so it would be more interesting. I have seen that done in other usage books -- there's one with vampires and werewolves etc in all the examples.
