blogger templates

I've got a traditional Google Blogger blog (the kind that ends with blogspot.com) and I'm using one of their own, standard templates. Thinking about getting a second blog and have fallen in love with a non-google template, you know, the kind some html enthusiast designs and allows anyone to download for free.
Would I be putting my first blog at some kind of risk by installing a non-google template, using the same email account and hence the same profile for both? I'm willing to try a "commoner" template out and perhaps find it doesn't work very well, but I'm not willing to have it mess up my old blog, as I wouldn't have the savvy to fix it again.
