Train house cats to poo/wee outside

How can we train our 2 house cats to poo and wee outside in our garden?. We keep their litter tray out of the way and fully empty it every two days, but is does smell. They are very clean cats on the whole, but we would like to encourage them to go outside for the the toilet

Two points to consider. Are the cats in the house all night - if so you will still need the trays. Also do you have a cat flap in the door to give the cats access to the outside and return.

try putting a boot up their a**es......lol......on a serious note try moving the litter tray closer to the door every day until it is eventually just outside of the door and this will hopefully encourge them to go outside.......eventually......good luck...ps it worked with my moggie.....
