omg my maths teacher

i've posted about him before but he has reached a new all time low.
He thought that a rectangle has four lines of symmetry. A square is a kind of symetry and has four but yoou don't normally call a square a rectangle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ontop of this, he : writes curly algabraic x the same as x as in multiplying, 1 and both kinds of brackets are virtually the same and 2 and z are written almost exactly the same.
the list does go on but they're are the hardest things to cope with when you are trying to learn algebra with someone like that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
and i'm top set.
Do you think that the second and middle set get the best teachers because top set people are almost garanteed to pass an exam but second and middle set (out of five) people are on borderline of passing/failing.

no it;s probably because top set pupils are so full of their own importance that no-on wants to work with them.
By the time you get to your teacher's age your writing will have lost it's fine precision - it happens to us all You know what he means, get over it. Be top set in common sense not just academic areas.

Sorry - think nix-j-c has a valid question.
I can understand the frustration but cannot answer you as to whether they give the Top Set (in my day - A Stream) pupils a worse teacher.
there is some logic in trying to get the middle and lower sets to pass the exams at the expense of the top set passing but at a lower mark.
My law teacher at O'level was far superior to the teacher at A level. It was considered that the A level student would be relied upon to do more work. Get the O's to pass and maybe more O's could actually go onto A....
So you may have a point. But it may just be your perceived bad luck.

Do you understand what he is writing? does he get his point across? Are you learning what you are supposed to?
If you have a complaint about his ability then do so in the proper manner and inform your head teacher of your conserns.
You managed to get across what you wanted to write even though your post has mistakes in.

There's no point taking this matter up here - if you want to change it, speak to your form tutor, the head of maths, and get your parents / carers/ zookeepers involved. All you can do here is get as claoe as you dare to slagging off your teacher online. Bet you show all your mates what you've posted.
Well I was never brilliant at maths, always in set 3 (bottom), and my teacher was actually pretty good. Then I worked in a special school where the maths teacher was simply brilliant. So it would seem as though the worst of us get the better teachers. However, I'm sure this isn't done deliberately.
But if people are having so much difficulty reading what the guy has written, then that's something that needs to be complained about, because it's jolly important in maths.
If other pupils/students feel the same as you, make a point between you of asking him to clarify everything you don't understand, and mention it casually to other teachers. As Lil ol lady says, you should really get your parents on board too.
Teachers, like human beings, can't be perfect, but they should at least make an effort to set an example to their pupils.

We have complained. We're getting a new teacher.
Sorry about my bad English, i was revising so wasn't realy concerntrating on AB.
BTW english is his third language (after Hebrew and Arabic) which explains the bad handwriting.
So you think that the people on the borderline of passign do get the best teacher to make sure that they do?

I have told people many times that I am revising for my exams, meaning that I am not fullly concerntrating on AB.
Would you rather me spell every word correctly and use grammar perfectly (meaning that I cannot concerntrate on revising properly) than spell the odd word here and there wrong with a comma missing every so often?

Precisely.
I have seen your questions where people have critercised you for your spelling and punctuation and can understand your reaction to mrs-overall (i assume she didn't reply to the replies you posted on your questions about spelling and punctuation). . . no i just looked she didn't.
I am revising for exams aswell.
Plus have you all seen the post in the science section created by a aweful speller who barely knows the meaning of grammar?

Exactly.
So ABers shouldn't be peanalised for spelling the odd word incorrectly.
When i looked on the post about that person who asked for help with her science homeowork, there wasn't anyone who critercised her for her spelling or grammar.
this is what she wrote. (or should that be a : or ;)

If i'm revising them i'm not fully concerntrating on AB and if your not fully concerntrating you slack off a little bit.
My maths teacher isn't even used to writing in our numbers and letters so didn't realise and didn't believe us when my class said when its algebra you don't need a times sign. It took the head of maths to coem in and tell him before he believed us. But he still sometimes does it.
