I'm rather fond of when Col. Nathan R. Jessop(Jack Nichiolson) gives his eulogy about defending a country when giving evidence in A Few Good Men.

It starts off with "You can't handle the truth............."

Stirring stuff.

I've always liked The Devil's quote in 'Angel Heart' - "There's just enough religion in the world to make men hate each other, but not quite enough to make them love each other." Not only does The Devil have the best tunes, he appears to have the best dialogue as well!

Not as sophisticated as Andy's I'm afraid but my favourites:

From Ken Russell's Lair of the White Worm:

Lord James D'Ampton (Hugh Grant): "Do you have children?"
Lady Sylvia Marsh (Amanda Donohoe): "Only when there are no men around."

From Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall:

[Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) confronts his wife Lori (Sharon Stone) after he's discovered she's set him up to be killed]

Lori: "Doug. You wouldn't shoot me, would you sweetheart? Sweetheart, after all, we're married!"

[She goes for her gun. Arnie blows her away]

Doug: (said in classic Arnie style): "Consider that a divorce"

not too sure of the film..think it was reservoir dogs or something like that.

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled...was convincing the world that he didnt exist."

ps

ps

fiferboy..ive also heard that quote. where was it from again?

thanks

ozzie1234, if you're interested "The greatest trick..." quote was The Usual Suspects & I think the "Norman Bates..." quote was from Gail to her psycho hubbie in Corrie.

I think that "He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy!" from The Life of Brian is probably my favourite, although "At my signal, unleash Hell" and "What we do in life echoes in eternity" from Gladiator are very good quotes!

From Buffy the Vampire Slayer:

Xander: Aha! I got it! Here's our villain right here! ... What?
Anya: That's a D&D manual, sweetie.

Andrew: Death Star, dude! Wicked, huh?

Warren: Ah! Got visual of subject, four o'clock.
Jonathan: That's not four o'clock.
Warren: Well, it is if you're facing the front of the van.
Jonathan: But we're not facing the front of the van, we're facing out that way. That's twelve, so she's at two o'clock.
Warren: Look, she's over there, okay?

Jonathan: I need you to hold hands.
Andrew: With each other?
Warren: Well, you know what homophobia really means about you, don't you?

The Simpsons

"Dont make me run, I'm full of chocolate" Uter

Homer: *rolling on the sidewalk with a book trolley* *serious face* Must kill Moe. *happy face* Wheeeee! *serious face* Must kill Moe. *happy face* Wheeeee!

Homer: "Don't let Krusty's death get you down, boy. People die all the time, just like that. Why, you could wake up dead tomorrow! Well, good night.

Another Simpson's one:

Captain Lance Murdoch, giving advice to Bart from his hospital bed when he hears Bart wants to jump across Springfield Canyon:

Now let me start by saying...  Good for you son!  It's always good to see young people taking an interest in danger.  Now a lot of people are going to be telling you you're crazy, and maybe they're right.  But the fact of the matter is: Bones heal.  Chicks dig scars.  And the United States of America has the best doctor-to-daredevil ratio in the world!

My favourite is from the Princess Bride:

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
