Kidnapped Britons in Iraq - an inside job.
The men were kidnapped in 2007. We have only just heard about them because the kidnappers requested it was kept quiet.
I happened in broad daylight. The kidnappers drove 19 Land Cruiser vehicles recently delivered to the Iraqi Government. They entered the compound without a shot being fire, and drove away being waved through checkpoints.
One of those kidnapped...
...had recently arrived in the country from voluntary work in Guyana, was in the process of installing sophisticated software for the US state department that would have tracked millions of pounds of international aid money, and the estimated $50bn Iraqi annual oil revenue, as it was disbursed through the ministry of finance.

There has been criticism of the Foreign Office over the fate of the kidnapped Britons. Is this why the FO have been reluctant to do anything?
or just another conspiracy theory?

I will describe something that happened at the end of WW2 to me.
After the British Army har relieved some towns and cities in Germany,we suddenly has seconded to us (per regiment) about 10 "advisers".
These guys were supposedly to give advice to the Army about Rationing, nutrition, rebuilding, social welfare etc.
However, they never seemed to be giving advice to ANYONE about ANYTHING!
I approached my commanding officer and enquired about this.He was a good chap and told me (discretely) tha they were actually from the Secret Service Bureau (forerunner to MI5 & 6) and were really there to "spy" on the German population so as to find war criminals.
I am not saying these hostages WERE doing that, but I believe they were doing something underhand and shady, that we are not supposed to know about,OR even question!
