I really really hate the creeping use of the American 'schedule' (pronounced as sometimes spelled in US with a K). Anyone else??? It's ScHedule!!

Only mildly irritating. What really gets my goat is that microsoft programs have british english as a dialect, and american as the default. I mean OK when you sell in america, but the UK release should be the other way round. Also when using it its UK english dictionary is full of american spellings and the grammar is almost universally american and therefore incorrect. Slightly to one side I want to hunt down and hurt really badly the person who invented that paperclip.
why is the schedule pronounced "SHED-ule" and school pronounced "SKOOL"?
The simple answer to that is because. Different usage, and I think a different root language, though I'll have to look it up. English is full of inconsistencies.
