How can I get a solicitor to pay me compensation and get her rebuked by the Law Soc
I am the respondent to a consent order and the order is so full of contradictions it is impossible for me to comply with it. My wife was allowed effectively to not cooperate with me which the order was dependend on.
I believe my own solicitor and barrister wern't sufficently skilled to protect me from agreeing to consent order that was impossible to meet and my ex wifes solicitor didn't understand enough about the complexities of laws in UK, Spain and USA, so things were delayed and thevalue of my investments dropped to a point where I could no longer meet the obligations of the consent order. what shall I do?

- If you qualify for legal aid, find a well known/used and skilled solicitor and seek advice from him or her. If you are unsure as to how you would find a decent solicitors, try yell.com, ask any family or freinds whom you know have dealt with solicitors in the recent past. Look in your local newspaper, as solicitors quite often advertise themselves, however, after looking at what you have wrote, it does seem that there is a possiblity that you have paid for your legal team and if that is the case then I would strongly reccomend that you seek advice from your local citezen's advice as the best legal team to hire,(assuming that you did pay for your legal team)- you have already no doubt spent a substansial amount of money and still are left unsatisfied and feeling that they was not of a professional standard.
Also, I personally would be starting to write a detailed information log of the major contributing factors as to which would prove, that beyond ALL reasonable doubt, that both your solicitor and barrister acted in a such manner which was NOT of a professional standard, and there is a possiblity that if you have a watertight case then you could get a refund on your legal fee's which may help you fund a more adequate solicitors fee's.

I don't know whether this will help but I went to see a solicitor about my neighbour as he had servitude across my land but he made my life hell as he would leave the gates open all the time and even opened them again after my wife or I closed them. I won't go into detail about the case, but he said he was right up for a fight but it turned out that he was absolutely useless and the case went on for over 4 years with me taking loads of photo's and giving him loads of evidence to win my case, but he refused to do anything about it and kept making excuses. I eventually contacted the law society in Edinburgh and I proved incompetence against the solicitor and they made an interim order of costs against him, the problem was that he made the excuse that he had been unwell for a a number of months and blamed this on not taking it any further. I contacted another solicitor and thankfully my neighbour cannot use my land as servitude any more. Contact the law society and see if that helps, hope you win, John
