At the Royal Courts of Justice, Hugo Keith QC used the word "Apparent" when describing the 7/7 attackers. Following complaints by the families of victims he apologised, but defended his choice of words by saying "I must balance that which may seem to be obvious with not wishing to pre-judge the issues". The coroner later added that "they would come up with another term that would not cause distress".

So is it the case that the apology is for the poor choice of words rather than any inference that the alleged perpetrators might not actually have been responsible? Doesn't this reflect what the conspiracy theorists have been saying for the last 5 years?

If people still belive that this was done by 'terrorist' then they need to wake up.
Then again these people probably think 911 was done by 'terrorist' too.
You all use the net, do some research and see the evidence, yes evidence for yourself.
As they apparently blew themselves up, no one has been convicted of the 7/7 bombings in a court of law.

All we have is presumed guilt.
That's right, sunflower71. 9/11 was committed by Martians from their flying saucer based in Atlantis. Is that the sort of evidence you refer to?
Raleigh

I'm torn between believing that one or the one that says the World's biggest superpower all its intercept jets on stand-down for three hours while the country was under attack. Tricky one.
Gromit - I cannot believe an event so terrible as 9/11 could have been committed as an 'inside job' and not one person involved 'talked'. Controlled demolition without anyone noticing the explosives being planted? That's not the sort of job a couple of fellers carry out during the evening before. Those planes flying into the Twin Towers: what were they - a diversion?
Raleigh

I do not buy the conspiracy theory either, but the official version leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

Gromit - There probably are a lot of questions unanswered; possibly because the US is unwilling to admit to lapses in its intelligence about the event.

But its an either/or question.

Either you are daft enough to think a western government could persuade its agents to murder thousands of its own people and die in the process, or it was done by crazed suicidal terrorists.

a fair point made by gromit & zeuhl (no trial, no test of guilt) - so why could qc keith or the coroner not have explained that to the relatives at the time? inexplicable.
Raleigh,

You'd have to be as daft as that bloke who was told a passenger jet had just deliberately flown into the World Trade Centre, and he continued to read nursery rhymes to six year olds for half an hour.
