Looking for a word

if someone is diagnosed with a disease, is a fit person who should not , in theory ,be vulnerable.... one world say that he is not, invincible, untouchable.
I think there is a better word. Any ideas?

resilient and immune are great but it is the idea of someone strong being succeptibleas opposed to someone of average apparent heath. This is doing my head in!

I suspect jno may have cracked it, but if not, could it be something to do with Antaeus, from Greek mythology? "A giant wrestler who could not be defeated as long as he remained in contact with the earth. Hercules defeated him by lifting him off the ground." There's an adjective 'antaean' meaning having superhuman strength.
